Mail Call

Chip Timmons - In late April, there's one surefire way to get all of our counselors in the same room (staff meeting not included).  The mail.  The sound of Pam working the date-stamper generates a Pavlovian response from our counselors. We don't drool upon hearing the sound, but we are conditioned to race into the project room to see what the day's mail holds.

Ken Brady delivers the mail to our office each morning between 9 and 10 a.m., most of the mail are decision letters.  Who's coming to Wabash?  Who's not? By now, we know the answers to those questions, but there's still plenty of suspense when Pam opens the letters each morning.

I'm a chronic "mail buzzard" as I circle over Pam as she sorts the mail throughout the year to see how many applications we receive, pieces to complete applications, and of course, deposits. When it's decision time, everyone transforms into "mail buzzards".  Need proof? Look at their faces!

Today was a good day as several young men made it official that they plan to attend Wabash. Mike announced good news with a honk of his trusty horn. Monday should be another busy mail day, so if you need to contact one of us between 9 and 10, you know where to find us.
