National Counselor Symposium
Chip Timmons- Today we wrapped up our Spring National Counselor Symposium. Typically, we partner with the Center of Inquiry in the Liberal Arts to host a symposium each fall, but the success and demand for this event has prompted us to offer one each semester.
The National Counselor Symposium is designed to bring high school guidance counselors and independent college counselors to campus to learn more about the liberal arts, the advantages of a liberal arts degree, and why the liberal arts thrive at Wabash. The symposium began with dinner on Sunday evening followed by a full day on campus including tours, classes, and opportunities to hear from Wabash students, the Admissions and Financial Aids staffs, and members of the Center of Inquiry staff.
Today's roster included counselors from 11 states including guests from as far away as California, New York, and Vermont. Participants really seem to enjoy an opportunity to get away for a few days and explore one of the more distinctive schools in higher education. We enjoy the opportunity to host them and show them what makes Wabash distinctive.
