Midnight Munch
Chip Timmons - One of my favorite traditions, Midnight Munch, took place last night. When I was a student, I always looked forward to it. Taking a break from studying for finals is nice, but throw in free food and unlimited caffeinated beverages and you can't say no.
While the food is great, the fellowship and the opportunity to spend some time with our students and colleagues from other departments are what make this a memorable event. Plus, how often do you see a Dean cooking flapjacks at 11:00 PM? I have few other photos from last night courtesy of Mike Warren '93. I couldn't leave my post at the biscuits and gravy station on Buffet #1 with Coach Johnson (scrambled eggs and hash browns), Coach Giannini ("the pork drawer" - bacon and sausage), and Tom Runge (pancakes). I couldn't just leave my crew to snap a few photos and I didn't want to get gravy on the camera.
I love biscuits and gravy, but not as much as some. I remember two instances when students filled their plates first only to return requesting I pour gravy over everything (eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes). I guess when I was 21 I could have eaten that without worrying about my cholesterol, not today.
