Big Bash - Class of '96 style
Chip Timmons - My class celebrated our 10th reunion this weekend at Big Bash and it was great catching up with so many of my friends. Our class was well-represented this weekend with 41 attendees which isn't too bad considering we only had 164 in our graduating class. I still can't believe it's been 10 years since I graduated from Wabash.
Friday was spent on the golf course and our team held our own with a 4-under par 66. After a cold start of 1 over par through 10 holes, we rallied with 5 birdies over the final 8 holes. My playing partners were Chad McVey, Jon Graf, and Kevin Eichhorn. All are good friends and coincidentally alumni admissions volunteers.
From left to right, Chad's a buyer for Whirlpool and was active with the Evansville Association before a recent transfer to St. Joseph's, MI. Jon is a special agent with the FBI and stationed in Columbia, SC. Jon joined the FBI a few years after graduating from IU Law and returned to campus this fall to assist with our Top 10 visit day. Kevin is a physician working in Madison, WI and regularly calls students interested in a career in medicine. Lastly, there's yours truly admissions counselor and amateur blogger. This group is pretty representative of the "you can go anywhere from Wabash" mantra.

I captured a few more classmates on the course as well. I found Chris Ings (w/ hat), Andrew Reynolds, and Alex Costa (putting) on the second green shortly after they peppered the gallery with wayward iron shots. I believe their fourth, Jon Bradley, was still searching for his ball at the time of the photo. The ball was later found in a box of donuts located on the registration table.
After a busy day on Saturday and an admirable showing at Chapel Sing, our weekend together concluded with dinner at Trippet Hall. We were joined by Professors Blix, Morillo, and Polley and it was a great way to cap off the weekend. I challenged my classmates to remain connected after they return home by seeking out opportunities to volunteer for the College. Several approached me to offer their support for any admissions-related efforts and I'll be sure to follow-up with them.
I think many left campus grateful for the opportunities they had at Wabash and a bit envious of the opportunities available to today's Wabash men. More importantly, I think they left with an eye out for the next generation of Wabash men.
