CTCL and Juggling
Chip Timmons - It's not the officially our first week of travel, but it's pretty close. This weekend, we begin the first of two Colleges That Change Lives college fair tours. Betsy's batting lead-off and covering stops in Houston and Austin, TX, Walter's next up with the Atlanta event, Nick's in the #3 spot with stops in Nashville, TN and Raleigh, NC, and Rudy's batting clean-up at the final event in Columbus, OH. Dates, times, and locations for all event are available on our calendar located at www.wabash.edu/admissions or you can visit the Colleges That Change Lives website for information about this and the second tour that will take place in September.
The preparations for fall travel are nearly complete. Each counselor has about 5 different tasks that he or she is juggling at one time. For some it's scheduling appointments with high schools, making hotel and flight reservations, setting up alumni meetings, calling interested students, and anything else that has to be done in order to have a successful travel season. I took this picture at President White's picnic earlier this month knowing it serves as a perfect metaphor for our work at this time of the year, maybe anytime of the year.
While the "road warriors" are doing their thing, others are taking care of all of the behind-the-scenes work of printing publications, updated web content, preparing agendas for upcoming visit days, printing high school confirmations, and the list goes on. We're all ready to go and looking forward to a great travel season.
Our counselor will share their tales from the road throughout the fall, so check back in a few days to see if our juggling skills have improved.
