The Legacies of Wabash

Chip Timmons - During Saturday's Ringing In ceremony, Jon Pactor '71 addressed the Class of 2010 and reminded them to honor those who have come before them. He also likened the four years one spends at Wabash to a crossing a mighty river. Many have crossed the river, but it is both new and the same.  It's the same river, but it's not the same water flowing through it today...or is it?

If you're one of the 37 legacies in the freshman class or you're one of the alumni related to those freshmen, you may believe that some of the "old" is blended into the newest class of Wabash men.

On Saturday, I tried to take pictures of all legacies and the alumni or current students related to the legacies.  We got photos of 11 and I believe that represents all we could cover on Saturday.  I'm always amazed at the percentage of each entering class that's made up of legacies and 11 years ago I helped keep that tradition alive when my brother Brad '99 joined me.  I'd post that photo, but digital cameras weren't around at that time.
