Winter Blast
Chip Timmons - Our first visit day of 2007 was held yesterday and it was a blast. Over 150 people attended yesterday's visit including 68 prospective students representing 8 states.
As I shared with some folks yesterday, it was also my first "blast" winter. A colleague reminded me that we tasted winter the first week of December, but I spent that week recruiting in Arizona. Someone has to do it.
Despite a forecast calling for a rain/snow mix throughout the day, old man winter didn't spoil the day. Frankly, falling snow was a welcome change to the buckets of rain that have been falling around here for the past few weeks.
Our guests were able to tour campus, attend academic interest sessions and student panels, hear from career services, and spend time with Wabash faculty, students, and staff. I must admit that seeing snow fall instead of rain served as a welcome change.
Due to some staffing changes, we had some members of our staff filling different roles in the planning of the visit day and they did a fantastic job. In fact, the entire campus did their part to ensure our guests had a visit that reflected what makes Wabash such a special place. I have pictures of some of those people lending a hand and look forward to our next visit on President's Day weekend.
