Meet the Intern - Travis Janeway '09
Chip Timmons - This summer, the Admissions Office has two summer interns: Brian Burns ’10 of Crawfordsville and Travis Janeway ’09 of Allen, Texas. I asked Travis to share some thoughts on the early start to the internship…
My name is Travis Janeway. I am a “rising” junior from Allen, Texas, a northern suburb of Dallas. This summer, I am working as a Wabash College Admissions Intern. Telling high school students and parents about Wabash College comes easy for me, because I care so much for this institution and I consider it an honorable duty as a Wally.
During the school year I am involved in the Sphinx Club, Sons of Wabash, Vice President of Delta Tau Delta, as well as the host of a two hour classic rock radio show for the campus station 91.3 WNDY Crawfordsville.
Some of my duties as an intern include giving campus tours, calling prospective students, assisting in mailing efforts, working with counselors on special projects, attending recruiting road trips, and filling in around the office as needed.
Many of the young men on my priority calling list are Texas high school students. It has been very rewarding to speak with fellow Texans about my love for Wabash. I am also pleased to hear their stories about the alumni they encounter in the Dallas area.
As a student, it is exciting to be reassured of the integrity our alumni possess by helping, not only graduates, but in the recruiting process as well. Wabash Always Fights!
