Indian Wells, California. As the car drives (which you would NOT do with gas at $3.50 a gallon), just a wee bit under 2,000 miles from Crawfordsville. South of Vegas and East of LA.

OK...I hadn't heard of Indian Wells and I wondered, as I looked it up in Google Maps, what the attraction might be. Well...as I zoomed in, I stopped counting as I went over 50 golf courses within about a 10 mile circle. Now I understand the smiles...
