First Days of Class & What a weekend!
The first day of class was something I was looking for about the last 4 years of my life. My first class was Philosophy 109 with Professor Brouwer. I’ve never had a Philosophy class before and I liked the atmosphere in the fact that everything is put into question. The second class I had later on in the day was my freshman tutorial on the
Supreme Court with Professor McDorman. Since it was the first day of class things started off to a slow start and many people asked question about the course work. After that Professor McDorman lead the class in a discussion about all the topics presented in the book (The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court) that we will cover in the class for the semester. The second day of classes (English Comp and German) weren’t any different in terms of a basic introduction.
Finally the weekend arrived and to celebrate its arrival there was a Cornhole tournament on the Wabash College Mall. It could be just me and coming from the Northeast but it doesn’t matter how hard I tried I could and will never be able to understand this game. Some how it looks too easy to be true. By the way just in case you were
wondering my Beta Theta Pi pledge brothers placed 1st, 3rd and 4th! Saturday was the most boring day I have had in a long time. Campus was so dead I really ran out of things to do. I did my laundry, read, cleaned, and worked out. I even went to another fraternity house to hang out because I was so bored. Most of my fraternity pledge bothers went to other Indiana colleges to visit leaving me with nothing to do and too much spare time on my. Luckily for me a few cool dudes stayed behind and accompanied me to dinner at Arni's. Now I have some really good pizza at home. In Rhode Island there was never a shortage of great Italian pizza, but I give all the
credit to Arni’s because that pepperoni and cheese pizza was slammin! It was so good I went back on Sunday to buy another one. Sunday was pretty cool because it was my first study table with my pledge brothers. Although it was 3 hours studying I feel like I got much of my work done. Before I conclude I would like to give myself a pat on the back for being voted my pledge class secretary. My duties include taking a lot of pictures, creating a display of all my pledge brothers, and keeping note of our meetings. I cant wait for next week , club call outs!
P.S
I have to give a shout out to one of my pledge brothers Donavan White for coming in second in the Alumni Cross Country race this weekend. Beta Theta Pi pledges makin it big!
