Freshman year isn't so easy!
My throat hurts! Chapel Sing practice has been taking a lot out of me vocally. I have sung “Old Wabash” so many times I catch myself singing the song on the oddest occasions. For instance while doing my house chores, while working out, even in the shower are all instances that show how “Old Wabash” has been drilled into my head for the Chapel Sing Competition.
Other than that I find myself caught between two different places many times. On one hand I have all the time in the world. On the other, I don’t have enough time to do anything. So to help me with this problem I have adopted the phrase “When in doubt go to the library”. On Monday I went to the library to do some studying and found it to be a lot quieter and a better place to focus than my fraternity house. Tuesday I went to get my physical done for the up incoming (and highly anticipated) track season. At the physical I met none other than Dr. John Roberts who is a proud Wabash & Beta Theta Pi alumnus. He quickly pointed out to me that my pledge pin was upside down. Then we talked more about my experience so far. It is really cool to see alumni so active and so close.
Lately I must admit I have been feeling quite tired. I know this increased tiredness is from a lack of sleep. To all my pledge brother who keep me up at night with ridiculous pranks, and unusually long conversations that go nowhere, I hope that one day you will become as tired as I so you will not keep me up at night. (Charles Niblick, Brian Shelbourne, & Billy Powers)

I have really enjoyed reading your blog posts so far. I was in your shoes as a Wabash Beta pledge 20 years ago, and this is really stirring up some memories.
Good luck with that tired thing. I think you're going to need to adjust to less sleep rather than depending on others to leave you alone. That just never seems to happen when living with 70+ guys with energy to spare. If you don't already, I suggest you start drinking coffee!
Have a great year. Best of luck.

This made me laugh. Freshman year is'nt easy at all. But don't worry so enough your going to look backa at all those pranks. Anyway, I like your phrase "When in doubt, go to the library." Keep up the good work !
