I wish I had more weekends like this one

This weekend was excellent for me in many more ways than one. On Friday after classes, I went to the Post Office to mail home my absentee ballot application. This was a relief because I thought I was going to miss the deadline.

Later that night a few of my pledge-brothers and I went to see Pineapple Express in Baxter Hall. Although I watched this movie back at home in Rhode Island with friends from high school, I still found this movie hilarious the second time, partly because the movie is lacking a serious plot. If you ask anyone they will probably tell you that I was the loudest person laughing while watching the movie, which is something I struggled with my whole life.

On Saturday morning was Moot Court competition. My partner, and pledge-brother Brandan Alford, and I did our best to win over the judges. Unfortunately for our sake, we did not make it to the semi-finals. Better luck next year. I spent the rest of the afternoon at the library getting work done. Afterwards, I went back to the Beta house were I met many members of my pledge-brothers' families like the Penningtons, the Whites, and the Powers.

Later that night I went to go see the comedian on Wabash’s campus for evening entertainment. Lavell Crawford made many jokes about everything from venturing to the supermarket as a child to using Myspace. Then he took shots at people in the audience. I did not think he was going to take a shot at me but I was mistaken. Although not fully offended I managed to laugh off his jokes along with the rest of the audience.

Sunday was a pretty adventurous day for me. Early in the morning around ten, myself and several other students ventured out to Chicago to participate in an Alumni Networking Event. This was my first time in the city of Chicago and I felt the long drive was worth it. The skyline of the city is very amazing and the city seems very clean. Although I still would prefer Boston any day, I still want to go back and view more of the city than just the downtown. At the Alumni Networking Event I met several lawyers who gave me a better insight about their daily work as a lawyer, which is always helpful. This opportunity got me thinking of staying in the Mid-West for the summer to possibly participate in an Internship of
some kind.

Monday is coming up and I have yet to finish much of my weekend school work. In addition to that I have yet to order my plane ticket home. This is going to be a long week.
