Sub Zero!

After cleaning the Beta house for the entire day on Tuesday, I could not wait for classes to being. Wednesday was the first day of classes. My first class was Philosophy, then German, then Music Fundamentals. For some reason the classes now seem a lot larger than they did the first semester. I feel this semester will be a lot better than the first because I won’t have pledge-ship looming over my head, and now I am free to work, relax, and sleep as I please. So basically the problem with this semester won’t be my fraternity’s rules, but rather the cold! For the past days now it has not been above zero degrees. Currently as I am typing this blog entry, the temperature outside is -17 degrees. Although Wabash is not a large campus by any means, walking to around to class in these temperatures can be a dubious task.  On Thursday I had my only class of the day which was Rhetoric 370. At first I was a bit nervous because I never taken a class that high level before. Once class began and things began to progress, I felt more comfortable. I am particularly glad I am taking this course because it is an Immersion Trip course.  That afternoon, track practice was quick because of the meet we had today at Rose Hulman in Terra Haute, Indiana.  Today is great because it is Friday. This week has gone by so quickly and I am betting the semester will go by just as quickly.  The meet at Rose Hulman went well for the most part. I ran the 400 meter in about 55 seconds flat. Although my time for the 400 meter (by my standers) was a tad bit slow I did win first place in my heat and fourth overall in Division III, which wasn’t  bad for my first collegiate track meet. I can not wait for the next track meet, which will take place here at Wabash, next Saturday.

This weekend I am looking forward to getting some homework and studying done, hanging out with some friends from other living units, and welcoming new recruits from Fort Worth/ Dallas, Texas, and California.

Eric Foust

Eric is not your average student at Wabash (in the fact that he is not from Indiana). Eric hails from Miamisburg, Ohio and attended Miamisburg High School. Here at Wabash he is interested in the sciences and he also will be playing on the Wabash College Baseball team. Eric always seems to understand and comprehends the way someone is feeling and can always relate. I am proud of him for working more hours, having more class work and being a pledge all at the same time. When many people wanted to quit pledge-ship he stuck it through and that shows how much of a strong individual he is.
