Keeping Busy...Weekend Edition
This weekend has been a good experience for me. On Saturday the entire track team ventured to Dension University in Granville, Ohio. We all left around 7:30 that morning and didn’t get to the school until right before noon. At the track meet, my teammates and weight throwers Matt Sheller and Kyle Edwards did very well. I, on the other hand, struggled a bit in all of my events. The largest mistake I made was not having a clean pass in the 400 meter Sprint Medley Relay. The coach reminded me to get my head in the game and come back in the 4x400 meter relay, which I did. On the way back we all stopped at McDonalds. I am now a firm believer that large groups should not invade small McDonalds’ in mid-western towns. We ended up arriving
back at Wabash around midnight. Before we all departed, the coach gave us the good news that we came in second in the meet overall. Sunday was initiation day. Now that I am a brother in Beta Theta Pi, many of the things I thought during pledge-ship were now coming together. After the interesting process of initiation, I started on some homework and laundry. I didn’t bother watching the Super Bowl for two reasons, 1. I already knew who was going to win and 2. My team didn’t make it that far this year.
Steven Apostolidis
Steve (aka Chucky Cheese) is a character. He has this “let’s all have fun” mantra about him. Steve, in wanting to have fun, always puts his education first. He is a smart individual and his GPA proves it. Steve is best known for hanging out with older brothers (especially Chuck Long and Cody Ray Leatherman), and could have been at some point, mistaken for a brother (before initiation). Steve went to North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and is our pledge-class computer wiz here at the Beta house.
