Work As Usual...

This week has been boring so far. Everything has been very laid back and work as usual. On Monday I had my first meeting at the MXI as an associate. I was happy to see some of my fiends from track and Beta come out for the MXI Club (Malcolm X Institute). On Tuesday was the first day for our study tables as MXI associates. Although study tables during pledge-ship got to become very annoying, I feel the lessons during study-tables have taught me discipline. Also on Tuesday I had my third Student Senate meeting. Although we already had officially voted on the Budget for this year during the last meeting, there was still loose end that needed to be pulled together at the meeting. On Wednesday I had a German quiz, I thought I did alright considering I studied for quite sometime. A habit that I have taken on is going to the trainers’ room before track practices. I find that the characters in the trainers room, from both Marks, to my fraternity brothers that work in there, make my time there worth while. Wednesday our track practice consisted of ice baths, which I am getting use to. That evening I stayed busy from a Pre-law society meeting, tennis match, and a basketball game.  This Friday we have a track meet against Depauw University on Friday, which leaves all day Saturday to myself. I just hope this cold weather and constant snow lets up!

Jackson Lijie Ding

Jackson is cool in his own special way. He comes all the way from Shanghai, China. I though I had it tough coming from RI (which in fact feels like a whole different country sometimes), but Jacksons coming from a whole different country, leaves me surprised at the way he was adjusted so well. Jackson is a smart one too. He has the highest chapter number in our pledge-class because of his stellar GPA. This semester I think he is taking around six classes just to be able to graduate on-time with a double major in Math and Economics.
