I Got Hypnotised? (End to Honor Scholar and a Great Weekend)
On Saturday was the first track meet of the season. I ran was scheduled to run the DMR and the 4x4 meter relay but for some strange reason while warming up for the DMR, my right knee cap shifted out of play and Coach Morgan scratched me from the race. After having my knee looked at by the trainer and icing it for a while I went on the run a great (as Coach describes it) leg of the 4x4. Although my right knee was a little swollen while running, I managed to hold on to second place, right behind the Wabash 4x4 A’ team. When the meet was over Coach Morgan read off all the results and congratulated us on clenching a first place win. That evening I went to Subway with my pledge-brother Donavan, and then on to the hypnotist show in the Chapel. I remember last year my (then and now) good friend Zach Hampton and I sat on the balcony and had a hard time seeing what was going on, so this year we were determined to get good seats. While sitting in the front row when the show started my pledge-brother Donavan pestered (yes pestered!) me to raise my hand to be one
of the “lucky” few to go on stage and participate in the show. Just as I raised my hand the hypnotist dude chose me and I walked up on stage and took a seat. After being entranced I didn’t remember a thing until I left the Chapel. I remembered being turned into a leprechaun named Morgan that stuck pieces of gold down his pants, driving an exotic sports car, and being an exotic dancer from Australia. After leaving the Chapel I ran all the back to the Beta house because I couldn’t believe all the stuff I did! Needless to say it was a start to a good night. After being hypnotized I participated in rush, which consisted of greeting prospective freshman and watching Gonzaga beat Western Kentucky (which made me happy). Later on that night I hung out with some friends and headed to bed. I must say I did have a good night sleep. On Sunday I did my usual Sunday preparing for a school week routine. I did laundry, studies, and worked out. During the time I was doing my busy work some of the brothers went to Anderson, Indiana to go paintballing. Let’s just say there are lots of broken skin and burses. Reflecting on this weekend I must say I am proud of Wabash. I am glad so many prospective students were seriously considering calling Wabash home next year, I am proud of how the student body opened all the doors to let so many students experience Wabash, and I am also proud of Wabash sports so doing such a great job this weekend. Tennis, Rugby, Track, and Baseball all walked away with wins this weekend. Looking toward the future I only have 6 or so more weeks to go, time to worry about what I am doing for the summer!
