One of the Best Weekends...Maybe
This weekend has been fun and exciting minus the weather. On Saturday we arrived back at Wabash at around 3:30AM. I immediately went to bed because I knew I had lots to do that same day. I woke up around 9AM and got dressed up for a scholarship lunch at the Allen Center. At the scholarship lunch the Glee Club gave a selection that sums up many peoples attitude about studying. The chorus of the song goes like this: The more you learn, the more you know, the more you know, the more you forget, the more you forget, the less you know, the less you know, the less you forget, the less you forget the more you know...so why study! After the lunch I went fishing with a pledge and fraternity brother of mine. This was the first time I really went fishing and I must say I did enjoy myself very much considering I caught 2 Carp, 2 Bass, and 1 Blue Gill. After fishing I spent the evening hanging out with friends and watching my team (UCONN) advance in the NCAA tournament. Sunday was the work day. Since all weekend long I concentrated on having fun I had so much to do academically wise, I knew it would be a loaded day. I did a ton of reading, writing and more
reading. Around 6PM I headed over to Professor McDorman’s new home where we (his freshman tutorial class) had a very good dinner. One of my pledge-brothers (Donavan White) who just so happened to be in the class, regaled everyone with stories of me while on stage during the hypnotist show. The dinner ended around 7:30, and I spent the evening doing more…you guessed it…reading. Tomorrow I have to wake up around 6 AM to secure a good spot in line to register for classes. Already one of the classes I wanted is already closed, which is a bummer.
