Start of a Good Weekend! (Honors Scholar)
Thursday was the start of Honors Scholar Weekend for 2009. I remember my time last year where I stayed at the Lambda Chi house. This year on Thursday morning I went to the Chapel Talk giving by Dean of Admissions Steve Klein. Dean Klein wasn’t the only one who talked, Dr. Roberts (Beta Chapter advisor), Steve Egan (Beta Senior), Professor Feller (Chemistry), and Gary James all spoke about their Wabash experiences. The message over all was to help all prospective and make them feel at home. That afternoon track practice wasn’t too demanding because of the track meet coming up. Friday was the big for Wabash. With so many seniors on campus it was almost overwhelming the amount of students we had in our house. That morning I went over to the Allen Center to stand at the Beta table at the activities
fair. Having all types of students come up and ask me what is it like being a Beta and what makes the Beta house special was really enjoyable. Lunch time has never been so crowded at the Beta house but we managed to squeeze everyone in. Later on at track practice, Coach Morgan had me stay of my feet, so I went to the trainer’s room to ice down my legs. That evening was RUSH TIME. Around 8 PM I headed over to the Phi Delt bouts, and then came back to the Beta house to talk to prospective students and relax. I hope the rest of this weekend is as enjoyable as it was for me one year ago with so many things going on this weekend. GO UCONN HUSKIES!
