Track Meet in St. Louis!
Thursday I had my African American Rhetoric class. We chatted a little bit then watched a movie on human rights during the bus boycott. Since this was my only class of the day, after class I went back to the house to pack for my track meet this weekend and get myself ready for an interview with the admissions office for a summer position. Around 3PM was my interview and I felt it went really well. I was told I would know by the beginning of next week, which is comforting. After my interview and a quick trip to the trainers to prep myself for the track meet, we were off for St. Louis. The ride to St. Louis was long but enjoyable. When we reached St. Louis a few other sprinters and I decided to leave the hotel for food. Down the street was an Imo’s Pizza. We ordered 2 large cheese pizzas thinking this could be decent and cheap, turns out we ended up spend 30 dollars on the nastiest pizza known to man. The cheese pizza looked like someone
regurgitated on the world’s flattest bread and served it in a box. The next day was meet day. Washington University has a very nice campus and all the buildings have a gothic charm to them that is at times a little much. The weather was nice but a little chilly. I ran the 400 and 200 meter races. After I was done I took a shower in the Washington University locker room and got into their sauna for a few minutes. The ride back home seemed shorter than the ride going down, but we watched a few movies and took naps. I am glad because this meet means I can finally have time on Saturday to have fun because meets are usually scheduled for Saturdays instead of Fridays.
