Easter Weekend!

On the advent of my first year in college coming to an end, this weekend could not have been even busier. Saturday I woke up at 5:40 AM to catch the bus going to yet another track meet at Indiana Wesleyan University. Saturday was unusually cold and extremely windy. At the beginning of the track meet I remember hearing the temperature was hovering around 40 degrees. Although throughout the day the weather improved it still remained very cold and windy. The competition at the meet was very intense and Coach Morgan looked for top times. I pr’ed (personal record) in both of the events I ran (400 and 200 meters) in but did not place very well. That night back at Wabash, my pledge brother Donavan and I packed our stuff and headed to his home in Indianapolis for the rest of the Easter weekend. The next day we went to his family church, and I must say I felt very welcomed. That afternoon we had lunch/dinner at his aunt’s house, where I got to meet the rest of his family including his very interesting uncle. That night back at Wabash I finished a 12 page paper in the library for my African American Rhetoric class. After that I had very little motivation to do any other work for my other classes. After this week coming up I can anticipate smooth sailing into summer…I hope.
