Study Abroad? Maybe.....

Thursday symbolized the end of my work week. In my African American Rhetoric class we watched the movie Do the Right Thing which was speaks very well to race relations in America. Later that day I went to see my new academic advisor, Professor Brouwer. We talked for a long time about what direction I want to take here at Wabash and where I would like to go to study abroad. After meeting with Professor Brouwer I went down stairs in Center Hall and talked with Professor Clapp, who is the director of the study abroad program. I let him know my interests are in Philosophy, and Public Health. After our talk I narrowed my focus on studying to either Turkey or Morocco, but I am still open to other places. That night at the Beta house was our seasonal faculty dinner. So many professors and language interns came to sit and relax for a while and talk about something other than school. I have a very interesting conversation that lasted the entire dinner with Professor Butler. We talked about everything from my studying abroad options to what I want to do after Wabash. After the faculty dinner I went to the library to finish up some school work. On Friday my first class of the day (Philosophy) was canceled which gave me more time to go the library and catch up on some emails. Class that afternoon seemed to drag on forever. I felt like the two classes I had would never end, partly because I was so tired and didn’t go to bed till 2AM. This weekend look bright and busy. I have a track meet and a boat load of reading and homework. The countdown is now 5 more weeks of school left!
