First Weekend Back...
This weekend has been interesting to say the least. On Friday afternoon was a good friend of mine (Chris Beedie’s) birthday. So a few friends and I had a surprise birthday party at Brock Grahams house off campus. What was fun about this surprise party were the various assortments of gifts he received. Saturday morning I woke up early to run in the Wabash Alumni Cross-Country race. The race was four miles in the Wabash arboretum. Two other track runners and I (Emmanuel Aouad and Jake Zielinski) decided it would be good exercise if we could run in the race. In the end I ended up getting in 37th place and had a time of 30.03, which wasn’t so bad for someone who is use to running 400 meters and that’s it. That afternoon after showering I got ready for the Alumni Lunch then after went to the football scrimmage. My afternoon after that
was full of adventure. I read some for Philosophy, went to go hang out with friends across campus, off to the Taste of Montgomery County, fooled around with some of my pledge-brothers, and hung out with a few more friends off campus. Sunday was a good day to be alive. In morning I went to the Pleasant View Baptist Church, and saw many familiar faces. After that I did more reading as for C&T (Culture and Tradition) then went to a dinner hosted by the National Association of Wabash Men. What was great about that dinner was that I met really interesting alumni who shared my interests and enjoyed sharing stories. Can’t wait for next week, first full week of class!

the couch has the odd smell of old people! Never fear, one of my fraternity brothers Billy Powers is around every corner with a can of
Guess who is back! I had an amazing summer in Indiana. As an admissions office intern, I gave tours, wrote letters, made phone calls, and even went to college fairs. In addition to living in College Hall for the entire summer I got to travel all over the mid-west. I’ve been everywhere from Indianapolis quite a few times, Bowling Green, Ohio, New Paris, Indiana, Louisville and Mammoth Cave, Kentucky, the Warren Dunes in Michigan, Champaign/Urbana,
admissions was very fulfilling because I was able to interact with different types of students, international and domestic alike. Although I spend most of my summer here at Wabash, I did leave on August 13 to spend a few days at home. At home I went to the beach, visited friends, and family and even got to go to a Red Sox game at Fenway. Unfortunately for my family I had to head back to school to on August 25 to start a new chapter in my life as a
sophomore here at Wabash. I think the most interesting part about me coming back is my 20th birthday is on August 26, so it will be interesting to see all my old friends and meet the new…freshman.
