Conclave!
The rest of my week has been quick and painless. On Thursday night I went to a talk about Latino identities in American politics for my Political Science class. I thought the talk was interesting because it gave me a new perspective on minority perspectives on being American that I never knew. Friday during my Political Science class we had the same speaker come back and talk about difference races in relation to their identification of racial terms. The rest of the day I didn’t have that much to do in my classes since most of my classes are starting new topics. After my last class at 12:10PM I had lunch, prepared my work for the weekend, talked to a few pledges about life, and then headed off to the gym. After working out I had a few minutes to get ready for the Beta Conclave event in Indianapolis. The event was very interesting. Everyone was dressed up really nice and all the Beta chapters in Indiana were present as well as some from Ohio. I thought it was really great meeting different Beta alumni from recent graduates to even a famous Beta Senator. I was surprised at how well organized and vast the Beta Theta Pi fraternity is! After Conclave I came back to Wabash and helped my pledge-brother Billy Powers create a poster board for the shirts we are selling tomorrow for the mission trip to Botswana Africa. Hope I can get some sleep this weekend!
