Northwestern Indiana Fun

This past weekend I traveled up to the Region for a little 3v3. The team consisted of Cheek, Funston, Josh Pederson, Josh's brother Justin (who plays for Aurora), a guy named Boyan, and me. I got up there on Friday and hung out with Cheek and Funston. We ate at an awesome gyro joint, and then followed that up with some froyo milk shakes. I stayed at Funston's house where homemade lemonade was the drink of choice. His parents were really accommodating, and his mom really knows how to cook.

On Saturday, Funston's dad made us a great breakfast and then we left for the 3v3 tournament. We lost the first game, but killed the second team. We tied for a spot to go to the semis, but didn't get to play because both of our refs took away legitimate goals from us. Anyway, I thought we played well since only Cheek, Funston, and I had played together before. In other words, the other guys made great contributions to the team.

After our last game, Josh and his brother headed back to Chicago, Cheek went home to nap, and Funston and I went back to his house. We later went to his friend's pool and swam for a while. When we got back to his house, we ate some burgers for dinner and then got ready for some races. We went to the Illiana speedway, where Funston's dad used to race, and watched some hard core racing full of spin-outs and crashes. I had never been to anything like that before, and it was a good time.

Now that I'm back in good old Fishers and finally done with ochem classes, I am getting ready for the season to start. I can't wait to step onto Mud Hollow once again and play some footy with my old and new teammates. I feel that Coach G and Coach O have begun to build a great team, and with the help of Coach Pagano we can compete at a much higher level than my previous two seasons. See you guys soon..

Cheers boys,
Kapsalis, '10
