The Game of All Games
It has arrived. Never too late or never too early, the game of all games is less than 24 hours away. The Wabash/DePauw rivalry is something we all feel on campus, students, faculty, staff, plus parents and alumni around the country. The Monon Bell represents the epitome of such rivalry. A football game that is one hundred and fourteen years old. An event that brings together Wallies and Dannies by the thousands!
Well, with all do respect for football and the Monon Bell game, that's not what I am talking about. What I am talking about is a game that we all feel because after all it's DePauw, but also a game that can give us a taste of what we can accomplish this year. A soccer match that may blow wind toward our sails and take us further than what we can imagine. A soccer match that can propel our lads to challenging and demanding uncharted territory with the conviction that every opponents, NCAC or non, facing Wabash on the pitch can be beaten.
This year we will travel to Green castle with the conviction that we can beat DePauw, we can beat them at their home! It's not just wishful thinking but the realization that we can compete and beat most of the opponents we face if we play the way we have against Holy Cross, Millikin, Chicago and Transylvania.
I don't want to jinx it and therefore I won't say anything anymore. One thing I know though, it's Wabash soccer time!
WAF!
