I've been in New York for the past week! It was an amazing way to end my summer... My family traveled there because my sister was in a production of Dreamgirls; it was an excellent show by-the-way. We haven't all been together since I graduated high school... so we definitely had some memorable moments. We still argue and bicker a little, but I think that's healthy for us. For the most part, we laughed and joked the whole time we were there. Practically my whole family was born in July. My sister's was Sunday the 22nd... her gift was us. My mom's was this past Friday... she went to see the Color Purple on Broadway. My nephew's was Sunday... he went to Chuck E Cheese. Mine is today! I think I'm going to the movies and playing Laser Tag. And I want to have my mom cook me dinner...

Can't wait to get back to campus... 2 weeks!

In a few hours, I gotta wake up and catch a plane. It's a little irritating because I have to wake so early. My Mama said she wants to wake me up at 3:30am.......HA! Lets get real. I might wake up at 4:20... The flight doesn't leave until 6:00 am. I dont see what the big rush is.

I'm going because my sister landed a role in Dreamgirls. So, the family is heading off to see the show. Its also convenient   because most of my family is born in July. So, I guess this is my birthday present.It should be fun... I'm ready to get out of Memphis.

3 weeks and I will be back to campus.

Crawfordsville has made national news! I know, I was shocked when I first heard it too. I immediately thought the college attracted ABC to the quaint town of Crawfordsville. How mistaken I was. In the midst of all this Harry Potter-mania, Crawfordsville has been playing secret host to where the last book is being printed. I just find it hilarious that as Scholastic Books searches for the most remote location to print the most demanded piece of fiction for 2007, they find themselves in Crawfordsville. Secretly, I always thought that those small Indiana towns were never really on the map...

Its been slow motion since I've been back to Memphis. Not that I am overwhelmed with bored or anything... I've just been taking reeeeaaaaallllllll easy. I wake everyday about noon-ish.Then I decide about what I want to do the day. It maybe going to a movie or reading a book or visiting friends from high school. It all really depends about what I'm in the mood for.

Last Saturday, I had a date. We went to dinner and the Beyonce Concert. Now many of you may not understand why I chose Beyonce as a date, but I mean, it is Beyonce. We went out for Italian before the concert and had a great time. We caught up and talked about people from high school and laughed about the old days.

We left the restaurant and headed downtown for the concert. As we were getting out the car, my date wondered if she could sneak her camera inside the concert. I told her naw. I knew security was not going to have flashing lights from the audience coming at Beyonce. She might fall off stage. How wrong I was. They allowed all kinds of pictures. So my date made me turn around and go get her camera. Needless to say we missed most of the opening act, who was Robin Thicke. I honestly wanted to see him.

But Beyonce was my consolation. She put on a hell of a show. This photograph was taken by my date. I was really surprised they allowed photography.

Anyways, I've been in chill mode since then. I went to see the new Harry Potter movie. And I enjoyed it. So forget the bad reviews, and take my word for it. The movie is decent.

So, now as it is 12:30, I need to decide about what I am going to do with the rest of my day. I will talk to you soon.

Its my first time in Memphis in 6 months. I didn't know what to expect. A parade? A party? Smiling faces, at least? Well, I didn't get a parade or a party, but a few smiling faces. I went to church today, and it was wonderful seeing some familiar faces. It was great catching up with all the old folks at church. I saw my family... they were excited to see me. We laughed about old times and I told them about my Freshman year.

But then I called some old friends. Well, I thought they were friends, but I guess a lot changes in a year. These so-called friends have absolutely no time for me. They are too busy with their lives to even return a phone call. I've told them I have tons of free time because I'm not working, but they just seem intent on blowing me off. I see why people hardly keep in touch with those "friends" from high school. Its because those "friends" push themselves away from you. I don't understand why they would avoid me. I don't think I have changed too much from the past year... I guess I'm a little smarter, but still the same guy who makes you laugh.

However, I am not complaining too much... I got a whole pledge class who misses seeing me right now.
