Thoughts from the Weekend

Friday night we tipped off against Rose Hulman and did not play well at all.  I think some of the guys came out a little nervous and it affected our play.  Playing in front of a big crowd for the first time this year the adrenaline was pumping and I think it made our shooting off, hence the 4 for 24 from the 3 point line.  We also really struggled holding on to the ball by turning it over over 40 times in 2 games.  We didn't do a good job of executing the offense.

Saturday we played a very talented and athletic IUSB team.  We did a much better job of running our offense all the way through and playing together.  Defensively we also turned it up a notch and held the Titans to 44 points.  One bright spot was the 2nd half play of Andrew Zimmer, he really attacked the offensive glass and ended up with a Tip-Off tournament record 16 rebounds.  Aaron Brock also played tough for us on the inside.  Gary Simkus was our most consistent player over the weekend, joining Andrew Zimmer on the All-Tournament Team.

Tomorrow night we play Hanover College at home.  It will be a great opportunity for our guys to compete and hopefully show some improvement from this weekend.
