Looking for a Few Good Men
Coach Chris Creighton — I can't believe it is already over. The season always goes by too fast.
Sitting in the chapel after the Monon Bell game and listening to our seniors talk is something I will never forget. None of us wanted this to be the last game of the season, but it was and it sure ended up being pretty special.
Playing in front of nearly 12,000 people is quite a thrill. Hearing the Bell ring for Wabash is a sweet, sweet sound. We thank everyone who attended the game and those who watched at home on television.
Now it is time to start preparing for next year. Our coaching staff will be out visiting high schools and looking for future Wabash Men and Wabash Football players.
I can assure you that what we look for is difficult to find.
We look for academically motivated student athletes that want to do something special with their life. We look for people with deep self-confidence and the courage to take the road less traveled.
We look for people who want to be a part of something bigger than themselves. We look for team captains because they are usually the most talented, most respected, and most committed members of their team. We look for guys who are passionate about the game of football and who want to be their very best.
Like I said, these guys are difficult to find. Nevertheless, they are out there and when we assemble them together into one team, amazing things happen.
Reporting Day is only 270 days away. I can't wait.
