Coach's Corner - "A Huge Test on the Road"

We faced a tough test on the road in St. Louis and are players really responded. Washington University is a talented, well coached football team. So, our staff was really pleased with the team’s performance. One of our goals is to play physical and we did that Saturday. Our defense allowed just 14 yards rushing and really set the tone. Our front seven played awesome again, and it made all the difference.  The offense did not get rolling until the second quarter, but our defense kept us in the game by playing physical.

Rushing for over 200 yards for the third straight week was a huge key as well. The offensive line and tight ends really paved the way. The rushing attack forced them to get their safeties involved which opened the door for Kody and Matt to hook up for three big passing TDs.

It was a great weekend. The Red Squad stayed perfect with a win on Sunday. They won 42-6 against Rose-Hulman. They really played hard. They practice hard, too, which makes our guys so much better. We’ll need a great week from the Red Squad because our schedule just keeps getting tougher.

WAF!
