Coach's Corner - "Homecoming"
My first Homecoming game at Wabash is one I will not soon forget. The crowd was awesome and we played really well, beating a good Allegheny team 48-7. I witnessed my first Chapel Sing and it was amazing. It was a special week.
Our players were really locked in all week in practice. It was our best week of practice the entire season and it showed on Saturday. Not that our players needed more motivation, but the Allegheny team provided plenty before the game. Our guys responded by playing the most physical game we have played this season. The defense was stellar. We held Allegheny to just 36 yards rushing and for the third straight week our first team defense did not give up a score. We had 26 players record at least one tackle, so it was a total team effort.
Allegheny was giving up a meager 47 yards per game rushing, so we were very proud of the offense for rushing for a season high 239 yards. Our backs ran hard and we were physical up front. The special teams showed tremendous improvement. We made all of our kicks and provided our offensive and defensive units with great field position all day.
Anyone who watched us play the season opener and Saturday’s game versus Allegheny would notice the improvement. Our players have worked really hard and the seniors have provided the team with great leadership. We’ll need another great week of practice as we hit the road for a tough game in St. Louis.
Wabash Always Fights,

I was at the game Saturday. It was as inspired a performance as I have seen since Wabash beat Dayton back in 1982. Hitting was hard and the guys really came to play! Go Wabash, beat Wash U!!! Wabash Always Fights!
