End of a Long Week

So I made it through the week and am feeling pretty fresh - I slept all afternoon. This week was pretty packed having gotten into the Rhyneship and all. However, it was fun. Wednesday we had some events going on with the club and it was pretty neat to hang out with those guys again. I really like my Rhyne class - it's a solid group of guys. Settin Records.

As a result of the long week and all, I have a lot to catch up on this weekend - I'm about an hour away from locking myself into the library. It's ok though sometimes you have to make some sacrifices for some fun around here. Tomorrow we are cooking out at the basketball game then dancing against the IU dance team at halftime. If I were them, I'd be worried.

Saturday we have a party here but again, I'm pretty positive I'll be at the library late so we'll see how all that goes. All in all, I've caught up on sleep and glad to be a Rhynie.

Rhyneship Begins

So Sunday night, I became an official Rhyne for the Sphinx Club. It's been pretty busy so far, just trying to get used to another committment and all. Nothing too crazy though - it will definitely be time consuming. Three Lambda Chi's also got in so that was good. All in all, I really like the Rhyne class I'm in and look forward to getting to know them and all the guys around campus.

Other than that, not much has gone on this week other than little sleep and a lot of studying/reading/errands. The rest of the week should be just as busy getting ready an organic test this following monday.

Friday wrapped up initiation for us as we successfully initiated 18 new brothers into LCA. It was really a pretty solid initiation all in all. Congrats to the new brothers.

It is nice to have initiation out of the way for the semester though - while it's tiring for the candidates, I would say its close to as hard on the brothers getting it all together, set up, tear down, etc. Apart from that, not a whole lot was going on this weekend. I pretty much read all Saturday - went over to the Allen Center to catch some of the wrestling meet and track meet, but apart from that took a night off to sort of catch up on some work from the week. I'm still behind in my religion class though, we've literally read 2 books already and it's not even been 2 weeks into the semester; gotta love it.

I made it through the first two rounds of Sphinx Club interviews and will be going through the final interview portion tonight starting at 8:00. Wish me luck.

I - Week

We are onto initiating 18 new members of LCA this week. It's actually pretty exciting watching them go through everything and a chance to sort of reflect back on my own time through the experience. Kind of a crazy time haha.

This week hasn't been anything crazy, I've been trying figure out some applications for some science stuff and haven't really had the luxury of catching up on my work. In fact, I've actually been behind a little all week. I was going to go to Notre Dame this weekend but because of initiation events Friday and Sphinx Club interviews on Sunday, I'm not going to be able to. I simply need Saturday afternoon to make sure I get caught back up. Once you're behind, you're in trouble.

We've already ready a book and a half for my religion class - its moving pretty fast. C&T readings have been really interesting this semester so far, I have enjoyed them. And a thanks to professor Ingram for letting me have a cutting of one of her plants for the room

Top 10 Scholars on Campus

The weekend was pretty average, not a whole lot happening. I made it to DePauw on saturday to watch my sister run and then came back here with the parents for lunch and let them see the new room, stock my fridge, etc. It was good to see them all.

Today was Top 10 day for the prospects. I always find it interesting to see all the prospects on campus and just see the kids on campus. It was also neat because several alumni were back on campus including a doctor I have emailed several times about general questions and finally got a chance to meet. It's a pretty neat environment here sometimes.

First Day of Class

It was good to be back today, call me a dork, but it just feels good to be back in the classroom. I think one of my favorite things about the first day back is to see the professors rested and ready to go, smiling faces just as excited if not more excited to have the students back. Heres to a good semester.

Back At It

So I finally got moved back in and ready to go for the semester minus about a dozen shelves we still hope to put up. It's always such a pain to lug all your junk back to school, set the room up, clean up messes, and finally get situated. However, it's always such a relief once its done. I was going to include a picture, but the loft takes up about half the room and you wouldn't have been able to tell what we had going on in here anyways.

     Standard Day during Christmas Break:

Wake up at 12-2 and get something to eat. Shower. Play Ken Griffey Baseball on N64 for a while, piddle around on my computer (check facebook, email, etc.), go lay on the couch for a while, maybe read a bit, dinner, lift (sometimes), lay around with the family until my mom and dad went to bed, play around on my computer and stuff until about 4 in the morning.

It was a very lazy break. Loved it though and felt it was much needed. I moved back in last Wednesday (a week ago); I was ready to be on my own again. All in all, I had a good, relaxing break and got recharged for another semester at Wabash. Looking forward to it.
