Busy Day
Yesterday was a busy day. I had my Freshman Tutorial in the morning, a lecture on applying for internships over lunch, my Art and Archeology class (which I will get back to), in the afternoon, study tables, and a lecture by a guest speaker.
In my Greek Art and Archeology class, a guest speaker came from the University of California at
Berkley to give a lecture. Professor Andrew Stewart is a world renowned specialist on Ancient Greek art, and has written many books on the subject. His lecture in class was interesting, but I enjoyed his evening lecture even more.
Professor Stewart lectured on the Hetairai, and how women were presented in Ancient Greece. The lecture hall was filled with professors and students, both from Wabash and from DePauw, and several faculty members, including President White.
As I stated, it was very interesting; his knowledge of the topic was astounding. It was an honor to have him speak at the college.
As usual, if you have any questions or comments email me at jrmartin13@wabash.edu.
