Welcome to Lanelines
As the swimming and diving team wraps of the first half of our season and prepares for our December Invites, I thought it would be a good time to start a Wabash Swimming Blog. The plan is to have a place where the team, parents, alums, and recruits can stay connected. Plus, I hear they're pretty hip.
We’re naming this site Lanelines in honor of Coach Pebworth and the newsletter she created for our alums and swimmers. Gail had such a tremendous impact on the program, and continues to make her mark on Wabash Swimming and Diving today. Not only has she influenced my training philosophies, and improved my swimming knowledge, but she has also been an amazing mentor. She has continually offered support and advice at exactly the right moments throughout my time here – and I am very thankful. As many alums have told me, and I now can see clearly for myself, Gail can get the most out of just about anyone… and she always inspires you to do more - and do it better.
I do plan on visiting this blog often with quick updates, photos, and the coolest “late breaking” news and info. This weekend we are busy and the team will be competing in several places – so a trip back Monday will get you caught up with what happened. Our divers will be home hosting the Wabash Diving Invite. Howard Bailey, our diving team manager, has done a tremendous job with our divers and we are all excited to see how they place. Also I am taking 19 swimmers to DePauw this weekend for their 9 team invitational. And finally, Ben Hewitt and Nick Collins are heading to the Miami Invite in Ohio with a small group for some of the best competition in the Midwest. Every invite should provide the perfect competition for our athletes. I expect we will have some good times when all is said and done (both
literally and figuratively!).
Follow along this weekend and check in on the team at these sites:
Take care and remember…
MORE BETTER.
