Florida here we come...

While the guys are at home enjoying the company of family and friends this holiday season, all of us are awaiting the much-anticipated annual trip to Florida for our Winter training trip. This year we will be headed to Palm Beach Gardens, FL training at the Pool Village of Wellington and enjoying the sites and sounds of the ocean nearby. Unlike years past, we will be traveling with all 32 of our student-athletes (divers included), which should make for a more enjoyable, unifying trip. Also new this year is the fact that we will be flying down as opposed to taking the 22-hour overnight trip on the charter bus. With gas prices so high these days, it is equally as cost effective to fly with such a large group of young men.

Some highlights to look forward to:

• We will be competing in a meet while we are down there; we have tentative plans to compete against Johns Hopkins University (Coach Weitz's old team), but we may also end up competing against the teams we will be training next to at our facility

• We will be blogging regularly while we are there, hoping to capture the hard work, the camaraderie, the fun, and the sun all at the same time

• Take a look at the pictures of the facility in which we will be training; hopefully we get more work done in the pool as opposed to the water slides!

• Upon our return, we will be faced with one of the toughest stretches of our season; we will have meets against DIII powerhouses Washington University (home), DePauw University (away), and Kalamazoo (away) and DII powerhouse University of Indianapolis (home) leading to our conference championship meet in Canton, OH February 14-16th

Happy holidays to all of you, and please be sure to keep a close eye on the guys as we progress through the back half of our season!
