The Last Go Around
Hi, my name is Stephen Mosier and I am a senior on the Wabash wrestling team. I have been a varsity wrestler for the past three years and I am really looking forward to my senior year of wrestling. I am planning on going 165lbs. which is the same weight class I was at last year. I lost a close match in the semi-finals of regional last year and didn’t get to go to nationals. My goals for this year are to win my regional and go to nationals and place in the top five. I have been working really hard in our preseason conditioning this year because I know that every bit of hard work that I put in now will pay off at the end of the season. I think our preseason conditioning is going very well and the freshmen are coming along. We are doing conditioning workouts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and we are wrestling in the room on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I strongly feel that we are already gelling as a team and the freshmen are doing everything we ask of them. They are working really hard and will fit right in when the season begins on October 20th. I think we have a really great group of upper classmen that are taking the leadership of the team already and are showing the freshmen the ropes. As upperclassmen we know what it takes to be the best and are trying to show them how to practice at that level. Several of the freshmen will be filling in some of the lower weight class’s where we had many injuries last season. With these new freshmen I think we will have a very good shot at winning our regional this season as a team!
