National League Back on Top!
Who could ask for a better World Series? Two midwestern teams, two seasoned managers, no expansion teams, the Cinderella story vs. the perennial power, Rodriguez, Pujols, Edmonds, Rolen, Rogers...
Despite being a Chicagoland native and appreciating a White Sox victory last year, I am a National League guy at heart. I love seeing the strategy that goes into coaching the game the way it was created...get him on, get him over, get him in! Congratulations to Tony LaRussa and his Cardinals.
The icing on the cake was having David Eckstein named the MVP. Any true athlete or coach has to appreciate an undersized (5'7", 165 lbs.) shortstop who plays the game like his hair is on fire earning such an award. Eckstein, who is scrappy, hard-nosed, and defies all the odds would have made a great Wabash Man!
