Wabash Baseball to Host Mentor Day
The Little Giant baseball team is pleased to play host to "Mentor/Mentee Day" this Saturday, April 21st. The Juvenile Mentoring Program (JUMPS) is a service of the Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau. It pairs young people from the ages of 6 to 17 with an adult Mentor and allows the youth a chance to participate in activities such as picnics, field trips, movie days and much, much more. More importantly, it gives the young person an adult to turn to for guidance and help with academics and social issues. Local mentors include attorneys, businessmen and women, baseball coaches, factory workers, people from all walks of life who want to make a difference in these kids' lives. To get more information about the program, please contact Jennifer Williams or Nancy Hartley at the Youth Service Bureau (362-0694).
Each 'mentee' in attendance will take the field with a Wabash baseball player during pregame announcements. Following the announcements, each youth will receive a signed baseball from their Wabash baseball counterpart. We hope to see you at the Hollow to support this great cause!
