Where's My Desk?

Have you ever wondered where a certain file or particular report was located? Have you ever been confused and lost in your own office looking for your desk and filing cabinets? This is the condition that the Modern Languages & Literatures and the Classics professors in Detchon have been drifting in for the past several weeks.

The entire Detchon building, including offices and classrooms, have been packed up and moved out to storage in preparation of laying new carpet. The hunter green carpet, which was the “in” color at the time it was placed, has grown outdated and is not wearing well at all; Thankfully, a new vibrant multi colored design will be installed during the next few weeks.

Of course, renovations are rarely without headaches, and the best land plan sometimes’ will hit a snag. This happens to be the case with the current task of re-carpeting. Some spots of the old carpet were laid directly onto the wooden plank floor. Because of this a sub floor must be installed prior to the laying of the new carpet. Just a few weeks’ setback, but if you are attempting to work, forget it. Finding files, books, and even computers has posed a challenge, never mind preparing for fall classes!

Looks like a great time to take a vacation!
