Hallo everybody!

Sue Ulzhoefer

So here’s the e-mail I promised you.

When Ted and Miles came over a 2nd time, we had a lot of fun. Its sooo nice to have people from Wabash around!!!!

The first evening, we were just chilling and they showed me and my parents the pictures of their tour through Germany. On Friday, we went to Augsburg. I showed them my university, the Golden Hall at the Mayor’s and the Fuggerei, of course. In the evening, we went to the "Pl‰rrer", which is like a smaller Oktoberfest. So we went into the beer tent (I was wearing my Bavarian dress and a friend was wearing Lederhosen) and we had beer and Bavarian music and a lot of fun dancing on the benches.

On Saturday, there was the beer case race. It seems to be one of the Wabash fraternity traditions... There are teams of two. They have to run 5.4 kilometers and drink a case of beer while running. Ted participated and I was really surprised he made the 16th place out of 100. His partner was very experienced though=) Oh, and when he got his certificate, he gave a short speech in German=)

On Sunday, there was a Bavarian fashion show (Dirndl, Lederhosen..) in a village nearby, so we went there. We also rode a camel=) In the evening, my mom cooked a goose because both of them never had goose before.

So, that was that... It might seem weird to you that we almost only did stereotypical Bavarian things... But the funny truth is that Ted and Miles told me kinda late that they wanted to come and I had already planned to do these things anyway, so I just took them to where I wanted to go anyways (besides from the fashion show and Fuggerei..) So see, the stereotypes about Bavaria seem to be kinda true....

In the next mail, I’ll tell you about Kyle Greaves form my Spanish class at Wabash. Next week, I’m going to Dresden on vacation and then, Kyle is coming over for a few days before studying in Spain. I’ll also meet him in Barcelona in October.
Greetings to the beautiful college!!! Sue

PS: I’ll send another mail with a few pictures
