Red Pack continues to work hard!

Geoff Lambert '08 -- This past weekend the Wabash Red Pack raced at home for the first time since the Hokem Karem in August. The meet went well for the track team as a whole and the Red Pack continues to run hard week in and week out. Dennis Frazee had a great meet winning both the 5,000m and the 3,000m running 15:52.44 and 9:12.44 respectively. Frazee ran both races as a workout in order to get ready for the remainder of the indoor season. Micah Milliman also ran in the 3,000m. His first attempt at this new distance turned out well for the freshman running 9:27.55. Hugh Jackson also made another run at breaking 4:20 in the mile but the earlier workouts of the week left Hugh without any gas on the last lap, he ran 4:31

The Red Pack is finishing up the tail end of the two week cycle this weekend with the Conference Relays at Denison. Given the way the workouts have gone the past few days, the distance team should run very well with emphasis on the 5K, the DMR (Distande Medley Relay = 1200, 400, 800, 1600), and the 4x800. The DMR and the 4x800 are races that the team does not have the opportunity to run but only a few times each year. We are excited to be doing something different. The NCAC is very talented in the distance events. We will have our work cut out for us, but we feel very good going into the weekend. While we feel good, we continue to go at it without our frontrunner from Cross Country, Sam Compton-Craig. Sam will not be racing this weekend for personal reasons but we expect him back very soon. The Red Pack would like to thank everyone who came out to the meet this past weekend and looks forward to seeing everyone at home again in a few weeks on February 17, 2007 for the Wabash Indoor Invite.

See you there...
