Sorry one and sorry all for the long and anticipated wait of the arrival of the biography of MICAH "The Cripple" MILLIMAN!

Micah Milliman '10 -- Hello, my name is Micah Milliman and I'm going to be a sophomore here at Wabash this up and coming year. I am 19 and 362, 365Th's. I am from Ft. Wayne Indianaand went to high school at Ft. Wayne Carroll where I had a somewhat successful running career. I started off running only track & field until my Junior year when I began running both track and cross country. In those last two years of high school I was able to reach some goals I had been longing to achieve. I was second team all-conference my junior year in cross country and my senior year I made first team all-conference, the all-area team, and was able to crack into one of the top ten times in the school's history with a time of 16:17 at my regional meet. My track season then ended up with a second team all-conference performance in the 1600 and made it out of sectionals in the 3200 with a time of 9:46. I then put in a good summer of training leading into the school year in order to keep up with the strong recruiting class that came in with me. I was able to have a very successful cross country season placing in the top five for the team throughout the year, peaking at the North Coast Athletic Conference meet with a 22nd place finish where I was the first freshman to finish the race which gave me New Comer of the Year Award for the conference. And the conference champions, Allegheny, went on to place 3rd in the country at the Div. III National meet! We capped of a great season at the Great Lakes Regional meet. The next day indoor started!! Indoor was going great with me running in the low 16:20's for the 5k and low 9:10's for the 3k. I then developed an uncommon injury known as compartment syndrome which put an end to the year and required surgery to correct it. I had my surgery at the end of May and I am looking forward to another wonderful season... once I get back on my feet that is. I am very excited to hear the Coach Roger Busch will be with us for a long time to come, being named our head cross country coach. He really knows his stuff and knows how to get a team to where it wants to be. I'm ready to see what our new and strong incoming class can do and am looking forward to meeting all of them

Summer is Here!!!

Geoff Lambert'08  -- My first trip to Wisconsin did not end the way I wanted it to. My hip flex-or problems finally caught up with me at the worst time. I ran 1:54 in the prelims at Nationals and did not make the final for the first time in a year. I was upset to say the least but I knew that my hip problems were out of my control at that point and I was just happy to have had the opportunity to run at nationals again. I want to thank the Wabash Community for their support even though my performance was sub par.

With the national track meet behind me I can finally focus on summer training and getting healthy for the first time since the prelims of Indoor Nationals in March. This summer is very similar to the last. I am once again working at the library on campus, living at 409 Crawford St. and totally focused on having a good cross country season. I do have new roommates though, my co-captain Sam Compton-Craig is living with me along with Matt Maher and Greg Longo.

After some talks with Sam we have decided that we need to focus on finding Wabash cross country history. I mean we need to focus on working hard everyday. From what I have heard, the teams of Wabash yore were not the most talented by any means they just worked harder than everyone else on a day to day basis. Sam and I hope that our own attitudes on hard work will rub off on the rest of the team and we can just tear through workouts together in 3 months. But more on that later. Over the next few weeks Sam and I will be writing about team events and whatever else we want to. This weekend Sam and I, along with other members of the Red Pack will be attending Dennis Frazee's wedding so I will be adding details after the weekend. Also in the coming weeks we will be having a get to know the Red Pack postings. These postings will be simple bios of current Red Pack runners. Up this week is soon to be sophomore Micah Milliman.

Hope all is well and have a great week.
