Mac OS X Security - The Short List

Today in the Macintosh Users Group meeting, Ryan Haarberg gave a presentation on Macintosh computer security titled The Short List for Mac OS X System Security. This guide is intended as a quick one page list of things to consider about securing a single Mac OS X install. It is not a full blown technical explanation but a short list, and is intended to talk about securing a single computer and not the complexity of a full network.

Topics covered include securing the administrator account, using firewalls, virus and spyware checkers, updating the operating system, and planning for disasters. Each section offers a brief introduction, and includes links to relevant software or expanded resources on the Web.

For those who missed the user's group meeting, the full guide is available here.
