Real-time Honor Roll
As an alumnus of Wabash, I appreciate the great job the Wabash Advancement staff do in acknowledging gifts to the College. The most recent example of this is the real-time online honor roll, which launched yesterday on the Wabash web site.
Unlike Wabash’s traditional honor roll of donors, which is published each fall and lists donors for the previous fiscal year (July 1-June 30), the real-time online honor roll shows alumni who have given gifts during the current fiscal year. The site lists gifts received and processed through the previous business day.
IT Services and Advancement staff have been collaborating on this project since the first of the year. Each night we output donor information from our Datatel Benefactor system to a web database, which is then used to dynamically build the honor roll page each time it is loaded.
Joe Klen, Director of Annual Giving, writes, “The goal of this project was to give alumni the opportunity to see who in their class has made gifts to the College during the current fiscal year. In addition, we wanted to be able to give Class Agents a way to have up-to-date information for who has made a gift in their class so they can publish this information in periodic Class Agent Letters.”
