A greeeeat weekend . . .
Hello Wabash,
This weekend was very eventful and also history making for me as well as my family. The basketball team finished off heading into break with a 2-1 record beating a team we haven't beat for a while, and it figures to be the last time we'll play against each other for a while (they're removing us from their schedule next year). That also happened to be the night that I personally made history for myself because I was able to tally off 41 points. My highest total in my career of basketball yet. The team played great as a whole and we are looking to carry this momentum into the game on Tuesday against DePauw. It would be greatly appreciated if the people from the Wabash family as well as the Crawfordsville area to make that 25-30 min. drive to that one town down south and show some great support.
I hope everyone's break was a good one. The history my family made? . . . well it wasn't that meaningful to everyone else, but my grandad got to see his great grand son for the first time and that was pretty special. He'll be a handful as he gets older, his mom stands at an estimated 5'10 and his dad is a measly 6'8. Not to mention he has some pretty good genes stemming from his grandmothers side, where he has some tall uncles and great-uncles. Me and Dominique spent our Thanksgiving up in Chicago, Illinois eating real good too! It was our first good meal (no offense to Sparks), in a very long time, and was well needed.
My congrats go out to a very good football team on the great season that they had this year. I got a lot of heck from some of my acquaintances up at DePauw for getting "smashed" but my only question was who was still playing two weeks later? Good job guys and a job well done, look forward to another great season next year, and being on the sidelines and retrieving those footballs for you guys!
Well, we have a 3 week stretched that looks to become very difficult. Finals are fast approaching and I'm not looking forward to the one in C&T. I have a very understanding teacher and hopefully he wont just base my grade on the final test that we take in the class, cause I really do like that class and discussions. I wish the students at Wabash the best of luck and I will shoot you guys another update after our game that we have come Tuesday, (depending on the result).
Until next time . . . I'm out

A fresh new update
Hello to Wabash!
I know I know, it's been a while since I've updated you guys to let you know what has been going on, but you have to understand that I have been swamped with paper after paper, test after test for the last couple of weeks. I needed to get those out the way before I could concentrate on my "extracurricular" things. Everything at school has been going good, I've had a couple of games under my belt, so I'll give you guys some updates later on...
Everyone is on break right now around the school, so basically the football and basketball teams are all up here living in a ghost town. The basketball team's daily routine consists of a team meeting, lunch, practice, and dinner. In the meantime, me and Dominique just sit in our room and chill... eat and, well, sleep. I can't wait until I get to go home Wednesday afternoon, cause I'm REALLY looking forward to some good home cooking. I'll soon able to upload some photos for you guys, giving you a better idea of what we do during the day. I'm waiting for black Friday and those prices to go on sale.
.:MOVING ON:.
Congrats to the football team. As we were playing our game on Saturday, we happened to be receiving updates during the game, that I'll be honest... were catching my attention, and found out during the end that we pulled out a great win. I'm looking forward to being here next Saturday for the game.
I do want to send my apologies out to the town of Crawfordsville. We (the basketball team), greatly appreciate the support that the entire town/school showed us on Friday night, and we really were down about how we embarrassed ourselves and the town.
We tried to come back out on Saturday and show people that Friday was truly a fluke, and I hope we did. We got revenge not only for ourselves, but we also feel for the town as we all took down DePauw in a hard fought game that went down to the wire. After watching film, things were still a little off, and we should expect that being our second game, but things are starting to look up.
My plans for break? Ahhhh, I'll probably just sit around and eat. I am looking forward to going home and seeing my high school play. Word around town is that they are looking pretty good this year, and it's always exciting to see my old friends, and the guys from the old teams come back and hang out. After Wednesday, me and Dominique are heading out to Chicago, to chill with my other family out there, and then we will be headed back to school for another set of practices.
Until next time Wabash, which should be around the time that we win after tuesday night, I wish you all the best. I'm out!

It's been a while . . . GET OUT & VOTE
Hello Wabash & friends,
So I understand it's been a while, but you have to understand that with Wabash comes great responsibilities, and some times you get swamped with those responsibilities two and three papers at a time. But now that I'm caught up and finally able to sit back just a little bit, I can fill you guys in on some things.
- Well . . . . first off, I want to congratulate the football team for their fourth NCAC championship in a row! Wouldn't that be classified as a dynasty or something? Kudos to Matt Hudson . . . my dad was listening to some sports talk show on the radio while working out, (yeah . . . he still works out <shout-out>) and he happened to hear-in on the hosts talking about how Matt was the best quarterback in the state of Indiana. It's always nice to hear, no matter what manner, the Wabash name on in the public getting support . . . keep it up!
- The basketball team has been going hard! Today marks the first day of our scrimmage where we get to stop beating up on ourselves and see what we look like matched up against someone else. I'm really looking forward to playing this evening (6:00 PM), and getting out there and running. A lot of us have been banged up just trying to get up to this point, but hopefully we'll all be in sync heading into the season opener.
- The NBA is off and running and is looking good to me. It seems that every team is trying to begin to make a "Big-3" almost just like Boston Celtics: Kobe, Gasol, Bynum (Lakers) . . . Artest, Yao, McGrady (Rockets) . . . Billups, Melo, Martin (Nuggets). I guess this is the new rave. Once again, I find myself anticipating the comeback of Greg. I know he's out of shape, so hopefully once he gets in shape, we can really see what he's working wit on the court. It's also interesting to see how everybody is trying to make Cap space cause we all know what's happening next year . . . that entire draft class of LeBron James and the gang is out of their contracts and could possibly become a free agent in the Cavaliers don't step up.
- VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!!!!! Today is Nov. 4th, which marks the day of the presidential election. I'm actually just getting back to school today because I had to run home this morning real quick to vote, but it was worth it. I woke up at 4:50, got to the polling place at 6:00 and was able to get out of there by 7:20. NOTICE: NO matter who you vote for, please . . . just get out and vote. This is my first major election that I can vote for since turning 18 and I take great pride in filling out those little bubbles on that ballot.
I hope everyone had a great and safe halloween. I couldn't eat that much candy cause I have to take care of my teeth, but the "small amount" that did have was good ( : Well I'm getting ready to head off to our pre-game meal before it's game time . . . you guys should try and stop by! I'm out . . .
Be Safe and God Bless

A rich background
Hey everyone,
Just going through my weekly check-up with the great Wabash College. This past weekend was a good one. My family came up and spent some time with me (gave me some money too!). They came for the football game and got to witness a very good win (good job football team, by the way). I had the "privilege" of working the game as ball boys on the field . . . mind you, it's a GREAT view, just a real cold one. Me and Dominique were freezing at first. It did get better as the game went on, but it didn't help my cold out that I already have. Practice has been going good for the first week at least. I was talking to Dominique and we were talking about how much of a difference there is in running condition and basketball conditioning. I tell you . . . those first couple of days of just running up and down the floor with a basketball were pretty rough! Hopefully I can get my stamina up a little more before we really start to play.
I was looking at the paper today and they had a great article in there today about of rich basketball history here in the past decade. Shout out to all the guys I know apart of that group that have made it big in the league. It's kind of funny cause at some point in time, all but one of the guys (Rodney Carney), I've played against, and all the guys in the article all grew up within 15 miles apart. I was talking to Jeremy Morris (#74 . . . the big guy on the O-line for the football team) and he's from L.A. That city was picked number one for having the most success in people going to the NBA, but we also thought about how big L.A. is too. Those seven players came from one specific district, and I must say I'm proud to have been apart of that :) Their NBA season starts tomorrow, so be looking out for the future rookie of the year Greg Oden playing against Kobe and the Lakers.
School . . . yeah, school is school (laughing). Keeping me busy and everything, but I'm on top of things. Things are coming along a lot nicer this time around (compared to last year). Experience goes a long way.
I went out to Indiana State last weekend and it was fun hanging out with my friends there. They had homecoming so as you can imagine, a lot of people where there.
F.Y.I. Did you guys know that their football team hasn't won a game for about 2 or 3 years? I didn't know that was possible . . . I've heard of losing streaks but that doesn't look to good.
Well that pretty much does it for me. I'm about to lay down for my daily nap routine before class and practice and a long night of studying. I'll talk to you guys later.

And so it begins . . . .
Hello everyone,
Ahhhhh, the time has finally arrived for the basketball team to start warming up for the season. Everyone is back from break and the team is eager to get started to play with a ball. You see . . . the coo-coo conference that we are in does not allow the basketball teams to touch basketballs up until the 21st (today). All of my friends from back home have been nagging me talking about how they have games next week, but, over here we have yet to get on the field. It's all good though, the players at Wabash will just be eager to be able to take their aggression out on someone else.
To catch up on some things around campus . . . Good job to the football team this past weekend. It was an ugly win, but as my coach used to say, "A win is a win." I heard that they (I forgot exactly who they played off the top of my head), were pretty good, so a nice conference win is good. Can someone say undefeated (knock on wood). Don't quote me on that, I don't want to be the one who jinxed the team. My Colts aren't looking to good either :/ Sad to say we have lost another game, and it looks to me that the only way we can get in the playoffs now is to be one of the wildcard holders. Also since my Cubs lost, I had switch recently to a team I like in the Red Sox . . . well they lost too! That pretty much does it for my baseball season, (I'm not really interested in the last two teams).
For my laugh of the week: Did you guys happen to catch that referee/past collegiate linebacker clear that Stanford QB? I felt a little sorry for the QB, cause it's really like you can't do anything in retaliation because, after all, he is the referee.
Hope everyone's Fall Break was a good one! I'd like to thank my Aunt for giving me and Dominique some of her o' so good cooking. I tried to bring some people back some, but as they could tell, it didn't make it very far.
Well . . . school is back in session, and it's time to get things rolling again with basketball. I hope everyone has a good week . . . as for me, this will be a great one!
Back to studying . . .

A well needed break
Hey everyone,
Hope all is going well with midterms and all. It's been about a week since I've updated you guys, (life's pretty slow right now), but things are guaranteed to pick up here in a few. Basketball is starting full-time once everyone returns from break and we are already eager to stop beating up on each other and take it out on someone else.
The basketball team has cross-country run we participate in every year. All 1.9 miles of it, and I can't wait for it. These upcoming two days are going to be well relaxed and used to get some time off to get my head right for the season. I look forward to seeing Chadwick Court near capacity this year too . . . the team is striving for a goal to have it looking like it did when Coach Carpenter played here . . . well, when he was on the team (no hard feelings coach, haha).
The football team is doing excellent . . . keep up the work guys. Shout out to my man Cody for continuing to be a beast, it seems that this sophomore class has some potential to be one of the greatest ever, (quote that). Soccer needs to rebound, but I'm sure they'll be good after this week. And X-country split up over the weekend and did a good job too finishing 21st and 13th.
Oh yeah . . . I'm looking forward to getting some home cooking, finally, this weekend! I feel sorry for those who cannot go home, but um . . . I'll eat some for you too, (sorry). Have you guys been seeing my boy Greg doing his thing? Well . . . he's been O.K. those who know him know that he's still playing rusty. Also . . . SPEACIAL ANNOUCEMENT: You have heard it here first, the Portland Trailblazers OR Boston Celtics, will win the NBA Championship this year.
Well I have to get back to my paper, but this study break was very much needed. But of course . . . talking about short fiction is my number one hobby (Eng. 105 . . . huh). Have a good two more days of school everyone and finish off strong.
Go home, have fun, and please . . . please, be safe.

A fun weekend . . . Get out and register
Hello gentlemen,
I first off want to take time out to do something I can't believe I didn't acknowledge when I was first on here. I want to pay my respect to Mrs. Ginny Hays and her family. I met her when she came to the first basketball game of the year, and was one of the first there. She was a wonderful woman and was a sight for sore eyes to look at her in the hardest of times during games. R.I.P. Mrs. Hays!
Ok . . . . I feel better, now to switch to a brighter note. Sadly to say, I wasn't able to attend the homecoming this year. I had already previous engagements to attend something called the Circle City Classic, which was in downtown Indianapolis held at the new Lucas Oil Stadium. To make a long story short, it’s basically just a big football game where two HBCU's (historical black colleges) get together and play against each other. It so happens that my late uncle, Rev. Charles Williams was a key factor in the development of this program and I've been going since I can remember. I do want to congratulate the football team for a job well done, I'm almost sure you guys missed me and Dominique on the sidelines (with our expertise . . . for those who didn't know, we're the best ball boys around). I know a lot of the guys on the soccer team, and although things didn’t go as planned . . . you have done a heck of a job this year so far!
I also attended my second Chapel Sing of my Wabash career and boy was it entertaining. I got to see my good freshmen friend Aaron Zinnerman sing his heart out, (shout outs to Wade and Big-Nate, members of the sphinx club, for helping me out, haha). I also enjoyed the Beta-boys (you know who you are too) protecting those good ol’ steps! I've always wanted to do that, but I'm sorry . . . . I just can't stand up for 45 minutes to an hour being heckled at by grown men while singing at the top of my lungs, its not like basketball by far.
For those who didn’t see the great comeback: The colts won! I actually feel kind of bad cause I have to say I did turn the T.V. off and went to sleep before I came back to school. I later woke up to see we had won. Something that kind of put a damper on my weekend was the Cubs, (my dad is born and raised on in the West side of Chicago and passed that team down to me . . . but I can’t say I picked up the same traits for the Bears) failing to win JUST ONE game out of three . . . It’s truly heart breaking.
Basketball is getting closer and workouts are winding down! The dreaded Cross Country run is tomorrow . . . Lord help me. I’ll keep you posted about what's going down this week, have a good one! And be safe . . . . Please, be safe.
Oh yeah . . . yeah! Get out and register! If I’m not mistaken today is the last day so I know I’m late in announcing it, but I’m a registered voter and I would love to share the same authority that I have with someone else! GET OUT AND VOTE!
